Truth vs. Developer Spin ?
During the recent attempts by Mr TNH Sanderson to significantly develop Eshott the villagers had noted claims being made by the "developer" that were clearly highly suspect:
Village Store : this was claimed to exist on the Eshott Hall Estate Ltd web site and as such would qualify as a sustainable factor. The reality is....it doesn't exist ! The store is effectively a mail order site for eggs, seasonal rhubarb and pheasant. If you want to shop in a less fictitious store please see our links pages
Public Transport : it was claimed we are sustainable due to our public transport links. The reality is that 'filebase' has offered residents a 'lift' in the commercial van (two kids and the shopping ?) and that a taxi service is always available. We do not have public transport access...
Village Chapel : The Chapel hasn't seen 'service' for many years, instead being used as a house sales office, and temporary office accommodation for Mr TNH Sanderson's business. It seemed odd that it was suddenly pressed into service very recently (July 08) to hold 'regular' service's. Since Mr Sanderson's freak accident the services have stopped completely, indeed the final service left the few attendee's waiting outside the locked chapel as nobody turned up with a key
